Second Life 4th Birthday Is Open Sores

The Second Life 4th Birthday event opens today at 12:00pm SLT(PST).  I was asked to head up the Open Source plot(to take over the world?) for the event.  Such a bad idea!  Some how it came out all right.  Content is a bit skimpy, but there will be plenty of  Baba to go around.

From the 23rd through the 30th of June I will be hanging out at the SL4B Open Source plot. Dealing out the infos you all desire, because I’m too lazy to write a bunch of notecards in “fire and forget” fashion.

To get things started for the Open Source event myself and anyone else I can con into attending will be holding a discussion, “libsecondlife - Past, present, and future.” Today, June 23rd at 1pm SLT.

June 25, 3pm - 4pm: Open Source, The GPL and Second Life with Gareth of  the LiteSim project.

Rob Linden has also suggested that he might hold office hours with us in SL4B.  Details are forthcoming.

Can you tell I don’t know what i’m doing? It’s all right though! I’ve been told it’s the “Bazaar model” and everything will work out in the end. I hope.

libsecondlife Developer Portal

Thanks to the efforts of Andrew Ortman we now have a new libsecondlife Developer Portal. The portal will be continuously updated with new content, as well as staying up to date with changes to libsecondlife itself. Feel free to add your own FAQs and make modifications to the entries, it is a wiki after all! If you are new to libsecondlife, and want to find a “Hello World” bot tutorial, or if you need help with chat, you can find all the details on how to do it on the new portal.
